Multiple phases of modernization and equipment upgrades were supported at the Lafarge cement plant in Beočin, Serbia over several years. Scope included construction of new silos, replacement of cooling systems, and installation of heavy machinery and structural components in a live operational cement production environment.
Key challenges:
Coordination of lifts in a continuously running industrial facility with high dust, vibration and temperature conditions
Precise placement of large silos, coolers and structural elements with tight tolerances
Management of multiple crane operations in confined plant areas with ongoing production
Strict safety requirements to prevent any production interruption or incident
Equipment used:
Mobile cranes with capacities ranging from 40 t to 500 t (220,000 lb to 1,102,000 lb)
Custom rigging configurations, spreader beams and tailing systems for load control
Conventional heavy transport trailers for delivery of oversized components to site
All lifting and installation operations were executed safely across multiple years, with zero lost-time incidents and full compliance with project safety and quality standards in a live plant setting.
